Location #1: This first image was taken in the woods behind my house. It is a type of white lily or other flower, I am not quite sure. I wanted to take this photo because I find the flowers of spring very beautiful. All of my photos are of flowers I found around my house a neighborhood. I am trying to convey a sense of cleanliness and simplicity in this photo. It also helps to establish some continuity since some of my previous photos included pictures of the same type of flower.
Location #2: This is a type of bush or tree found in the back of my neighbors yard. I really liked the color of these flowers which prompted my photography. I also enjoyed the light and how the sun created some glare as I was taking my photo. I feel that the glare added to my pictures feel. It helped to convey feelings of happiness since a ray of sunshine is seen coming down. I had to take multiple pictures in order to position the sun in the correct spot so as not to dim my photo.
Location #3: This is a picture of a flower in my backyard. Much like the previous location, I really enjoyed the vibrant purple color of this flower. On top of that, the shape of the petals were really interesting, and I wanted to capture them. The hardest part of this image was trying to keep out all the aspects of human creation such as the houses and decks surrounding the flower. I had to try taking the image from several angles before I was able to get a good picture.
Location #4: This is a photo of a weed in the woods across the street from my house. I decided to take a picture of this because I though that its flowers were very pretty. It was a bit ironic since the plant itself is a weed, and yet it has very beautiful flowers. The path into the woods is pretty overgrown so it took a while to explore back there and find this plant. I am hoping that the image contains a sense of innocence and purity.
Location #5: This last location is down the street on a corner. I am not sure what type of tree this is, but the white color looked very good in the sunlight. I felt that taking a picture from underneath the canopy of the tree would make for a very interesting lighting scheme with small rays of light poking out. I was hoping that the image would convey a sense of peacefulness and beauty. I didn't think I really had any challenges when taking this photo. I was a little disappointed with the quality of lighting in some of the photos, but I was able to fix it in photoshop.
